FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO(Audience feedback)

 After we were done with the final cut we posted the link of the film opening on social media to acquire audience feedbacks which I will be posting below:

Finally! After so much hard work and effort we are finally done with the film itself. It was quite difficult but quite fun too and definitely an immaculate and distinct learning experience. Below is the link to the Final Cut. I hope you like it.

PRODUCTION: Changes made after teacher's feedback

 Main changes made to the film after teacher's feedback was addition of the distorted effect in one of the scenes and incursion between some of the scenes to smooth out the continuity. Furthermore sound scores were also changed in two scenes as according to the teacher the prior ones were too dramatic. Other then that our teacher approved of the product.

Feedback (Rough Draft)

 So we showed sir the raw draft of our films. Overall sir told us that it was a good effort however he did tell us to correct somethings. For Instance he told us to decrease the use of the same sound and add a variety of different sound scores which create the suspense instead of creating the drama. Furthermore he told us to add some effects such as in the library in the entity's POV shot we should add a blur effect or distorted effect and colour grade it to  to show the entity's view. Furthermore he told us that whenever we show a flashback we should add the flashing effect to add more cinematography to it. With these improvements we will hopefully be able to improve our product.

Production company logo

 We collectively decided the name of our production company to be Firefly Productions. I searched some logos on google and other websites on google and customized an eagle logo but I wanted to add more graphic effect to it so I copied and pasted the logo on Canva and applied a Smokey effect on it and converted into a small video clip in which the smoke can be seen moving. This also suited the genre and theme of the movie as the background colour of the logo is black and the smoke adds an eerie effect to it so even the logo of our production company establishes the genre of our film opening even before the film starts. PRODUCTION:Editing

 We used Adobe Premiere as the main editing software for the film. The first decision we had to take was to choose the clips as we had a number of clips of the same scene. We did this in school so we could collectively decide which of the clips were the best. After the clips were chosen Fatima, our editor cut then connected all the clips together. Afterwards Fatima added sound to the film. There was a sound score which sounded like stabbing someone but it didn't really suit the scene and made it look very dramatic as sir said  so we decided to change the sound score and went for a slow, high pitched tune which gave rise to the enigma in the scene. Then we had to decide what effects to use. Sir suggested us to use flashback effect in the flashbacks. We also decided to used the distorted effect to show the entity's POV. We did not opt colour grading because our film was already shot in a dull atmosphere with low exposure to get the perfect eerie atmosphere. However we did try some different colour palettes on different scenes just to see if we could make the scenes more impactful, But in the end we decided not to change the natural colour.

After we were done with sound and visual effects, we started working on the titles and the logo of the production company. I was the one who made the production company logo, then showed it to my members for them to approve it first. Then Fatima added the production logo and titles, however the titles looked a little big so we decreased the font size a little and decided to go with a simple font for our titles.

Movie Poster

 Our movie is named HER. I used Canva to make the film's poster as Canva is an amazing editing software, I used a creepy picture which i took from Pinterest in the background. In the picture a silhouette of a person can be seen through the foggy glass. The reason I used this is because Siniestra takes over the bodies of people and trap them in their own mind and the picture conveys just that. Furthermore I used a variety of different fonts which all established the horror genre of the movie. The poster is quite catchy so it will catch the attention of viewers and make them want to see the film.
