Camera And Equipment

For Camera we have Canon 2018 EOS R with specifications:

• Sensor: 30.3 MP CMOS Sensor, 5.36µ pixel size.
• Sensor Size: 36 x 24mm.
• Resolution: 6720 x 4480.
• Native ISO Sensitivity: 100-40,000.
• Boost ISO Sensitivity: 50, 51,200 (H1)-102,400 (H2)
• In-Body Image Stabilization: None (Some RF lenses feature Optical Stabilization.

We also have an iPhone 11 which has a poor camera plus it will easier to shoot the running scene with this.Furthermore we have BLUEWOW’s WY-M1 wireless microphone which is really good at noise cancellation and can be connected by Bluetooth to the phone.

FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO(Budget)

 For our film opening we didn’t have to spend much as the location we found for our film opening is a public place and the other is a friend’s house, plus Maryam and I already have suitable shooting devices. I bought a mini mic for shooting and Maryam made the entity’s hands and we have to buy  white lens for the entity. So we decided we would add all the money spent on these things and then divide it equally into all of us and then after the shoot whoever wants to keep the things will pay to the others. 

Edit: As we couldn't find pure white lenses for the entity we removed that from the narrative so it also isn't in the budget anymore. As we are still students so this was a low budget production so the only money spent was on the mic, which was divided equally among us, furthermore the money spent on the food for actors was also equally divided among us.

FINALISED CAST

 So we held auditions last week and when we were watching the auditions we had a little visual board in our minds which we had discussed earlier about how we wanted our characters to be, their appearance, their way of talking and everything. And fortunately for us we got what we wanted. All the Auditions were amazing but one that we really liked was Jahanzeb Babar for zephyr. He’s a really good actor and expressed his emotions perfectly and looks kind of like what we want Khizar to look like. Jahanzeb is our senior and we finalized him as Khizar. Now finding the perfect siniestra was the tricky part as she does not have any dialogues so we had to judge the body language and the aura to find the perfect actor for the character. One of the best performances for the entity was of Ibadat’s who is our batchmate. The way she walks and moves her fingers was just what we wanted so without any arguments we settled on both the characters.

AUDITION

We had another team meeting to decide the cast for the film, we decided to hold auditions for the film. We messaged in our class groups to tell everyone about it and soon after held auditions. we made up a small script which was also shared and had to be performed by all participants. The  auditions went quite well and a lot of students auditioned and we fortunately fond the closest actors to perfect, both the character's perfectly suited the visual image we had created of these characters in our mind. 

LOCATION RISK ANALYSIS (the forest)

 So today  I visited the forest which is one of our shooting locations to see if it involves any kind of risks and what we could do to eliminate those risks. The location is actually in a very busy area so there is rarely any time the place is abandoned. Other than that The landscape is quite safe i.e. it isn't steep or rocky o it wouldn't pose any danger while shooting. To further maintain security when we will go for shooting we decided to bring our guardians with us to further ensure the security of the actors and of our production team.

LOCATION RECEE

 So our first location is actually my room so my friends came and saw the room and we thought it was quite suitable as we would be able to create the mise-en-scene  easily inside by manipulating the lighting and other factors to our liking. Other than that it would also not risk our safety and we would have no legal procedure, obligations to follow and neither would there be any time limitations.

Our other location was a library. So we basically have to show a public library in the scene, for the purpose we decided to use our own school library as it would be easily accessible. We easily got permission to shoot in it by our headmistress. Again it would be good for our security as we would be shooting in the school premises and we would not face any problems while shooting.

Another location we used was a public park. The screen time for this location is only a few seconds as it is shown in a flashback but I visited the place to see if there were any legalized procedures or admission to be taken to shot at the place. Fortunately, as it is a public place we can shoot there. Plus the park is quite big and has a lot of trees so it looks like a forest which is just what we needed. In terms of security it is very safe as it is in the heart of the city so the area around the park is quite busy which makes the area safer.

Understanding My role

 I’ll be the director and the script supervisor of the shoot.As a director I will have keep the creative outflow of the film going and will be instructing and supporting the actors throughout the shoot. I have to make sure that cinematography and the mood of the scene is sustained in form of the Mise-en-scene of the shoot. Along with this I’ll be the script supervisor which means I’ll have to make sure that the scenes are shot in a way that continuity remains. This will help the editor and make the editing easier. Furthermore I’ll have to make sure everything is going according to the script.

 Hi. The
planning for the film is going great. We  so far are set on the horror genre and all me and my partners decided to make our own mood boards to bring and represent out thoughts and what we have visualized in our minds in form of this. I am posting my mood board below:

25 words Pitch

 Khizar is  peacefully going on with his life until one day he sees a weird dream after which he always feels like someone or something is always following him until one day he finds an odd book in the library and does the mistake of reading it due to which something takes over him. Join Khizar in the journey of reclaiming himself.

Planning(Synopsis)

Below is the synopsis of the film that we wrote today in our team meeting:

 Khizer never even encountered a supernatural entity much less an evil one, so naturally had no belief that theses things existed; until that one dream. He feels the presence of something in that dream and after he wakes up from it, he has this feeling of uneasiness. He finds a mysterious book sitting on the table near him. After reading it he isn't himself. He feels so powerless in his own body. Siniestra takes over his body for her own use and puts him through so many torturous things for her own delight. Khizar however, isn't ready to give up so easily and goes Into the last straw of finding about this ordeal and getting rid of HER.
