• Looks like a shadow
• All black
• White eyes(white pupils and irises)
• long hands with black long nails
• No features are apparent only eyes are prominent and ling black and ashy hands

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION (1)

Khizer (protagonist):

• Around 18-19 years old
• Tall and skinny
• curly haired
• wheatish skin tone
• wears casual clothing(  t shirt and a pair of jeans)
• doesn't seem to believe in supernatural stuff
• lives alone in his small house

PLANNING(Script development)

  We had another meeting earlier in school to discuss the final narrative and start making the script for the film. We don't have any dialogues in our opening as only one character is shown and the other is a supernatural entity so that made the script making easier, However the script is still  in process as we have to plan and write every little action in a way that it conveys something to the audience about the plot, furthermore we also want to the the film as cinematic as possible. So in the meeting we started writing the script and with it we also noted which shot size, shot, the pace of camera movements and editing we want to use, in order to make the shoot easier.

FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO(Narrative)

 Out story starts with a guy running in a jungle? forest i.e. he is surrounded by tall trees. Seems dark, barely any light is there. As he is running he starts hearing a weird chant being whispered by thousand of hushed voices " Al-ee-joo-alni" they keep saying along with it sound of bells ringing van also be heard, Then from his back point of view a black, ling and ashy hand grabs him from his neck and he stumbles on something and falls, as he falls , he wakes up from bed in cold sweat. It was all a dream. and the voice of bells was just his alarm going off. He gets up and goes to the washroom. A s he turns on the light and washes his face to get rid of the sleepiness his eyes travel to the blue bruise formed on his neck n form of a hand print along with nail scratches running on his neck. he freezes and tries to register what happened. Convinces himself that his cat hurt him or something and goes on with his day. time skip shown to him coming back home and as he enters his doorsteps he stumbles on a little object which he finds out is an old nd dusty book lying on his floorboard. He picks it up and can't seem to recall having such an old book in his house. He opens the book and stops on one page where a picture of a weird black creature with white eyes is shown. The book is in some weird language, it seems like Latin. He reads a phrase : "Al-ee-joo-alni" and next thing shown is the entity behind his back reaching out for him. The guy passes out. Wakes up with full white eyes and a sinister smile on his face. The End.

FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO(ROLES DIVISION AND FURTHER PLANNING)

 We held our second meeting to further plan the foundation portfolio ahead. First we completed the script for overall story and then divided the main roles among us. So far we decided that I'll be the director, Fatima will be the editor while, Maryam will be handling the camera as well as the costume as design, Fatima will also be my assistant director and me and Maryam both will also help Fatima in the editing. Maryam is the expert with camera so she'll be handling it but me and Fatima will also help. Below i am putting pictures from the second team meeting:

Foundation Portfolio ( Further Research on Genre)

 Hello again, So far the work on the foundation portfolio is going pretty smoothly. We have decided the movie's name, SINIESTRA which literally means sinister in Spanish used for females. It also means creepy or grim. As our movie is horror genre and we show an supernatural entity who's showcased as a female so we named her Siniestra and also the movie. To add a little more flavor to the plot we created a little sound motif by ourselves of the said entity. So basically whenever the protagonist feels the presence of the entity he starts hearing ringing of bells and thousands of hushed voices chanting; " Al-ee-joo-al-ni"which is an actual phrase derived from Latin which means "join us". This actually quite widely used, like hushed voices are used in conjuring to showcase the entity so this will also help the viewer signify the genre. Conventionally a lot pf jump scares are used in horror films amd so we also are planning to do one jump scare.

FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO( Genre)

 Me and two of my really good peers Fatima and Maryam are working together as a group to make the foundation portfolio. We were all set on making something related to a horror genre so our main focus was to construct an idea which could support the genre but we are still open to new incoming ideas. However for now we have thought of having two characters (1) an evil entity and the other the a guy who is being haunted by this thing. We will be going for a linear narrative because as beginners it will be easy to shoot. The reason we decided to go for this genre is because it has a lot of known convention which conveys the genre plus as we're supposed to create enigma for the viewer horror is the perfect genre to do so as the effects, and the sound all create an unsettling feeling so it will be easy to create a storyline which immerses and entertains the viewer.

Foundation Portfolio ( First meeting)

 Hi,

Basically in AS we are supposed to make a foundation portfolio as 50% of our grade depends on it.In this portfolio we are supposed to shoot a film opening scene with a duration of about 2 minutes. We're also supposed to edit it and then submit it  and we're trying to complete it by March. So recently we made final groups who will be working together on the foundation portfolio and My partners are my very good peers Fatima Hassan Zaidi and Maryam Sohail.We have already started working on the story line and the genre. We still have a lot to plan before we finally start shooting it. Here i am posting the pictures of our first meeting for the foundation portfolio:

FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO (Team Intro)

 For the foundation portfolio we can either do it individually or form group of maximum 4 students. So i decided to do it in a team as I am still a beginner and it would reduce workload and encourage teamwork. So I teamed up with two of my peers and friends Fatima Zaidi and Maryam Sohail.

Fatima Zaidi:

Fatima is also a student of AS and takes Media studies with me. Her main fort is editing but her writing skills are really good so she’ll definitely be a great help in narrative construction.

Maryam Sohail:

Maryam, also a student of AS and class fellow in Media, is very good at handling the camera and actually has a camera herself so her specialty is camera operating however, She also happens to be an art student and a very talented one at that so she will absolutely ace our costumes and designs.
